Commission Process
-
A very small carving can take as long as 15-16 hrs from start to finish, and go up from there based on sized and complexity. Timing can also be influenced by how much work Sampa is currently doing. He will let you know what place in line you are and an estimated time frame.
-
Sampa’s work is priced with a very general range of around $5-600 for a smaller carving to a few thousand for furniture and up from there. The pricing is based on materials and time and scope of project.
-
First you will need to fill out an inquiry form on this page, telling Sampa the general idea for your project. He will then contact you for more discussion of your idea, and his current work schedule. Then he can provide an estimate of the cost and timeline. At that point, you will provide a signature and 50% deposit based on the estimate to initiate the work. Sampa then will provide a sketch of the idea to be made for approval. You are allowed 2 revisions: more than that will cost extra for time. At this point work commences!
-
On the ok of the estimate and signature, Sampa requires a 50% deposit. You can pay via check or cash. You will have received an estimate of the timeline and once Sampa has finished your work you can pay the remaining fees via check or cash. You can pick the work up at his workshop on Whidbey Island, or the item can be shipped to you via UPS. Shipping and handling is not included in the price of the work.
